From the Heart of Pastor Dave

The psalmist wrote, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1  Later the writer of Hebrews would challenge God’s people, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together”  Hebrews 10:24-25

Simply put, not to avail ourselves of opportunities to gather with God’s people for worship, Bible study and service is to “forsake the assembling of ourselves together.” That said, as your pastor I want to personally encourage all of our members to take advantage of the numerous opportunities offered by our church for worship, study and service.

We offer the traditional corporate worship opportunities Sunday AM (10:45) and Sunday PM (6:00pm) in the church sanctuary as well as our mid-week Prayer service and Bible Study Wednesday PM (6:30pm) in the Adult 4 classroom.  There are Bible study opportunities during Sunday School (9:30am) and in various Small Groups meeting in homes throughout the week (ask in the church office as to time and location).

We are currently offering Women’s studies, Monday noon (12:30-2:30) and Monday PM (7:00pm) in the Adult 4 classroom, and, a Men’s study, Monday PM (7:00pm) in the coffee bar area.

There are also numerous opportunities to gather to serve in and through our church family. Please see the pastor, staff or office about ways in which you can serve and fulfill God’s purpose for your life.

The choice, of course, belongs to each of us.  You can choose the minimum (and many do!) or the maximum (thankfully, some do!) way to participate in the life and ministry of our church.  Allow me, then, to challenge us one and all “not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together,” rather, to maximize every opportunity offered by our church for worship, study and service for God’s glory and the blessing of our fellow man.
