PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEEOctober 14, 2009
Dear Church Family: Your pastor search committee continues to work diligently. We have now narrowed our field down to 5 finalists. We will continue to pray and seek God's will as we check references, and continue studying sermons and other information.
Please pray for us as we seek God's will for our church. Please pray for spiritual discernment as we seek to find His man to be our pastor. Please pray for these men as they seek God's will for their lives. Please pray for our church that we will be patient and persevere through these days.
God Bless You and Please Keep Praying! David Brake Search Committee Chairman
Chairman: David Brake Vice Chairman: Billy Bob Coburn Secretary: Dara Groguhe Frank Reid, Earl Worthington, Mary Jane Crouch, Paola Davidson “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 August 11, 2009 Dear Church Family - The members of Your Pastor Search Committee have been diligently working over the past few weeks as we individually pray over, study, and seek to prioritize the stack of resumes which we have received. We will then sit down together for an extended meeting where we will discuss the resumes, pray over them, and try to prioritize the resumes which God would have us consider further. This is a daunting task, especially considering that we started with over 150 resumes, and still have more coming in! Please continue to pray for us as we seek God's pastor for our church! This pastor will be a person who desires to be a part of us and to become one with us, to meet us where we are and move forward with us. Please pray with us to that end! We certainly appreciate the efforts of the church in setting up a prayer vigil for our committee and our church on Saturday September 12th. Please pray with and for us at that time. Also, please continue to lift us in prayer before and after the special vigil!! Thank you and may God Bless First Baptist Church of West Columbia - Your Pastor Search Committee
June 3, 2009 Are you ready to share with us what God has laid upon your heart in leading us to a new pastor? Then please don't miss THIS Sunday when we will distribute a survey that will help this committee better define the character traits of our church family and what character traits God has instilled in the Pastor He has chosen for us. Please pray over your answers and truly search your heart for what God desires for this family- not necessarily what YOU desire. Surveys need to be returned to the church office by June 17. We appreciate and covet the prayers of our brothers and sisters. This weeks prayer request: that our survey questions be clear to those participating, that we have a 100% participation from our church family, and that as the committee reviews these surveys God gives us clear direction in our next step. 05/20/2009 Hey Family! We are making progress! As a committee we met with Donald Hintze, and have begun preparing a committee covenant that will outline what is desired from each committee member and what our duties as committee members will be. We also are preparing a church survey to gather information on what makes our church tick and what God has laid on our church family's heart as desired in the Pastor that is coming. The committee asks YOU to be in prayer for God to open your heart and mind as you participate in this survey to help us better understand what type of Pastor God is preparing for our family. As we start to make progress, we call out to you for prayer, patience with the process and perseverance for the duration. Please commit yourselves to prayer and fasting for our committee. Our specific prayer request this week: For God to encourage each committee member to be clear in their communication with each other, to make each moment of each meeting purposeful and for clear guidance and direction in planning each new step to come. Thank you family! Pastor Search Committee |
